Some Historical facts about Mahidevran
* She had never been a slave girl,she was princess of Charkassay, daughter of Prince Mirza Abdullah Hayder Bey and his wife Nazcan Hatun......( that is the reason she didnt bow her head in front of hurrem while greeting, not even last meeting of both in bursa when hurrem came for seeking forgiveness from mahidevran for killing mustafa, its hurrem who always have been bowing her head because she knows apart sultana she is princess too :P)
* She was maternal niece of Aysa Hafsa Sultan and hence sultan suleiman was cousin of Mahidevran
* Her marriage (like court marriage not nikah) took place in Bosphoros Istanbul
* She had 5 children with Sultan suleiman

* She didn’t killed Mehmet
* She was less fortunate than her predecessors ( because queens of ottomon who lost their sons are sent to old palace,but mahidevran was not fornunate enough she had to rent a home and take care of her and staff by debts)
* At the end of suleiman reigns Salim ( when he was still a prince) purchased rented home of mahidevran and paid all her debts,after death of hurrem in 1558
* Salim constructed tomb of shehzade Musata after getting into power and put mahidevran on salary
* She was remembered as active in welfare of people
* She died in Sultan Murad’s time and was buried alongside Mustafa and her Grandson Mehmet
Mahidevran After The Death Of Sehzade Mustafa; Mahidevran sultan was Sultan Suleyman's love, and
'Haseki' Sultan before Hurrem Sultan arrived at the
scene and became the Sultan's favorite. Hurrem
regarded Mahidevran's Sultan son, Sehzade Mustafa
as a threat for her own children after Sultan
Suleyman would die and allied with Rustem Pasa, giving her daughter Mihrimah Sultan to the Pasa
and conspiring againt Mustafa, Suleyman came to
believe his son was planning on overthrowing him
and killed Sehzade Mustafa and his sons, he was
buried at Bursa with his offspring. Revolts against Sultan Suleyman and Rustem Pasa
began by the Janissary corps, Suleyman removed
Rustem Pasha from power, an imposter acting to
be Sehzade Mustafa revolted against the Sultan,
however this uprising was soon crushed and the
death of Mustafa made public, Mahidevran Sultan was exiled to live in various provinces, so people
would not gather around her. Her last years, after the death of Sultan Suleyman,
Mahidevran lived at Bursa, where her son was
buried, she lost all her power and influence with
Mustafa, only a few Pasa's helped her to come
around, after Sultan Selim II, son of Hurrem Sultan,
heared of her condition he gave her a salary, Mahidevran died in 1581, at the age of 80 in Bursa.
